Que Alicea is the CEO of Q & A Consulting LLC. (QACL), an environmental consulting firm based in the San Francisco Bay Area established in 2020. Que is recognized as a groundbreaking, African-American, woman-owned business, addressing complex challenges in the environmental industry, making her one of the few African-American women-owned firms holding a WBE, WOSB, LBE, MBE, SB and DBE certification. Before starting QACL, Que was the owner of a medical day spa and a paramedical aesthetician. She was introduced to industrial hygiene after being invited to work on a disaster site.
Que honed her craft under the tutelage of seasoned CIHs, CACs & Industrial hygienists, and through specialized training in Asbestos, Lead, OSHA30, Silica, HAZWOPER Certification, Certified Indoor Environmentalist/Consultant, and CSST pending licensing. As an apprentice, she gained hands-on experience and training on Asbestos detection, Lead, Mold, PCB, Contaminated Soil, Water Testing, Indoor Environmental Quality (IEQ) Performance Verifications (“IEQ Verifications”), hazardous materials surveys, onsite Asbestos clearances and fire disaster work.
Over the last 2 years, Que Alicea has been committed to cultivating her team through leadership, training, and professional development. Que Alicea leads her team of passionate environmental professionals with a combined 60+ years of experience in the industry, providing safe indoor and outdoor environments for staff, clients, job sites, and the community. QACL services municipalities, utilities, public and private school districts, and commercial entities through their mission-focused and reliable team that is ready to accomplish required tasks every day.
Dedicated to inspiring others, Que engaged her own community in East Palo Alto and provided education on the environmental industry, furthering QACL’s mission. This led community members to receive the proper licensing, certifications, and business opportunities with QACL.
Que has been featured in notable press such as Entrepreneur, Yahoo Finance, and KRON4. Que is also an active member of the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council Pacific (WBECP), and serves on the Bay Area Rapid Transit Business Advisory Council (BAC); the Conference of Minority Transportation Officials (COMTO) HUB Committee; and the San Francisco Chamber of Commerce Build Downtown SF Committee.
